Light to medium green gold color. Few thick slow moving legs. A complex nose of earth overtones, apricot, tropical fruits, almond, slight clove, peach, and vanilla spice. A bright clean fresh aroma. On the palate, the wine displays immature flavors that echo the nose along with some alcoholic overtones. Excellent length really a beautiful somewhat unique Chardonnay. Drink now (but better in two years) to 2008.

Brilliant, well integrated. Showy good balance of fruit and minerals with notes of cloves and cinnamon.

Wonderful, almost in a puligny style. Started at celler temp and by the time it got to room temp it was perfect. Not bad for a 7 year old ausie chard...

Opens up nicely after an hour decant and better on the second day. Nice complex and integrated Aussie Chard - great with dungeness crab and butter.

Clear, medium lemon. Clean, medium to pronounced nose of sweet white flowers, pineapple, pear and peach, a hint of minerals. Dry, medium+ acidity, high intensity, full body. More minerals on the palate and lovely bitter lemon peel finish. Medium+ long. Fine. Premium priced. Can drink now but can wait for at least another 3-5 years.

Initially muted nose that evolves over hours with citrus, spice and mineral notes. This wine is well balanced and just coming into the drinking window. Decant for at least 1-2 hours.

This has to be the best chardonnay from Australia.

Primary fruit is gone with hints of lemon and other citrus, clove and spice. Integrated, beautiful with a long finish.

Well balanced but lacks the boldness and spice of a Howell Mt. Cab. Smooth on the palate and good finish with low tannins. Eminently drinkable even w/o food.

BDF notes: Wineaggedon I fourth place. Tasted young, tannic... I called this as 100% cabernet and it shows in a good way. Tannins develop over time in the glass and the decanter. I think it needs some time in bottle.

Raspberry with a red-ink core. Still youthful. A bordeaux style blend with blackcurrant, mulberry, cassis and some minty eucalyptus. Silky texture with good acidity and smooth chalky tannins. Sleek cassis and mulberrry fruit with some tobacco in the long finish. Very good.

From one of my favorite Australian producers, this wine rarely disappoints. A giving nose of petrol, honey, spice and lime. Well balanced acid and fruit (dry) but of a high magnitude.

Green with a hint of straw; watery at the rim. Buttery oak on the nose, powerful but not overdone. Full bodied with crisp acidity. Rich pineapple, grapefruit and apricot on the palate; good complexity. The pineapple returns in a buttery long finish. Excellent - almost slightly burgundian.

Ma deuxième expérience avec des vins de Vasse Flelix et cette fois-ci c'est la bonne. De loin meilleur que le Shiraz dégusté cette année, cette cuvée Heytesbury est en sorte la cuvée de luxe de Vasse Felix. Le vin ce présente de belle couleur rubis, dense, il est peu évolué. Le nez s'ouvre sur les fruits rouges, le tabac et les violettes, malheureusement un peu de poussière vient gâché le tout. La bouche a une bonne (forte) acidité, les tannins sont souples et agréables, on y retrace une légère note de menthe en fin de bouche. La cuvée 2001 est resté 18 mois en barriques de chêne. Cher mais très bien fait.
