Six years old so lost some fruit. Oaky and alcholoy. Not bad for a Virginia wine, but not worth over $30. Visit my website: Vinotrip 1 of 1 people found this useful |

Flavers of dark fruit. Nose of tobacco and espresso. Finish is nice and smooth and lingers! |

I had this with grilled steak on 11/30/08. After decanting for an hour, it had a wonderful bouquet of deep black plum, black currant, cedar and spice aromas. It was very dry and bitter on the palate with flavors of rubber, plum and black currant. I disliked it so much that I opened something else to go with dinner. I came back to it two hours later and while the nose was pretty much the same, the palate had completely changed...It had flavors of plum, black currant, tart cherry, cocoa powder and what I imagine concord grapes would taste like without sugar. It was still very dry, but not nearly as bitter. It was very pleasant, intriguing and quite unique. |

I opened my second bottle of this for sort of a mini tasting on March 8, 2009. It decanted for about three hours and seemed very different from than the first bottle! It had blueberry, vanilla, tobacco and spice on both the nose and palate...no sugarless concord grapes or cocoa powder. This bottle seemed less unique or intriguing than the first one. |

strong effort with age of blueberry, ripe red fruits, and some raspberry. The norton grape is a great varietal to mix in for a change of pace. Easy to drink, some mild tannin, and fruity. |

The mountain view cab franc actually comes from near roanoke and is light weight and has that virginia earth profile. Tart cherry, mineral, and smooth light finish |

mineral, virginia clay, and light oak are apparent. Some cherry and briar patch berries. Decent finish but lacking complexity and length on the finish |

Surprisingly good. Opened with profound green pepper and a little leather. With 30 mins the green pepper mellows out and reveals soft tannins. Much better than expected. |

Great, as always - a wonderful counterpoint to Kielbasa with sourkraut and spicy brown mustard. Thick, viscous, oily mouthfeel with electric acidity. Terrific balance - sweet, tangy, mouth-coating, and lingering. This will improve for several more years and drink beautifully for a couple decades. |

Pure and beautiful. A lovely wine with hints of apricots and beautiful acidity. Great with apricot based desserts or cheeses like La Tur (the La Tur pairing is perhaps one of the best wine to cheese pairings I have had in years). I am curious to see how this wine evolves over the years. |
