Nut brown. Aromas of burnt toffee, raisin, prunes and demerara sugar. Rich sweet, viscous and concentrated. Figs, christmas fruits and candied peel on the palate. Very long and sweet with a hint of coffee in the finish. Another superb fortified "sticky". |

A relatively restrained Shiraz on the more elegant side. Still deep, dark berry liqueur flavors. Subtle spicy tones with notes of black cherry cobbler. Less weighty than most Shiraz and avoids syrupy character. Velvety smooth, soft, integrated tannins with decent finish. |

Bottle lacking character overall. Improved a little with 3-4 hours in the decanter. A bit of funk on the aftertaste, with a lot of alcohol on board. Even so, the bottle was drinkable, if not enjoyable. Flavors of chocolate and dried herbs predominate, with fading dark fruit. |

Inky garnet in the glass, this wine has a nose of crushed herbs and blueberries with hints of chocolate and mint. In the mouth it is smooth and rich with gorgeous minty, blackberry, and darker earth flavors. Light tannins caress the sides of the mouth as the rich but not overpowering flavors head for a menthol tinged finish. Power and grace. Impressive. Visit my website: Vinography: A Wine Blog |

Decanted 30 minutes head of time at about 55Ë? seemed to open this up a bit. Cork was in OK condition - seemed a little punky when removed - 2 pieces. Makes me worry about the long term shelf life. Dark color, somewhat aromatic, fruit - maybe cherries opened up as the wine warmed some more and aired out some more. Medium finish. All in all very good. 1 of 1 people found this useful |

This highly regarded small Australian producer makes Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and sparkling wine. Medium blood red colored wine that is just developing a slight brown tinge. Despite the wine?s relatively light color, the medium thick legs show some pigmentation. A very open nose of warm red fruits, smoke, mint, iron, some attractive greenness, and a touch of herb. Lovely in the mouth with good acidity and mouth coating flavors (primarily strawberry with some light oak shadings). Tannins have dissipated and the wine is drinking beautifully right now but can be held for a few more years. A Cote de Beaune styled Pinot. |

Pretty stinky on the nose, as often the case for Yarra Yering. As others have noted, Susan noted a bit of a "tingle." Very acidic, quite sweet red cherry up front, with a long long long grapey (think Welch's grape soda) finish. Very drinkable but not really that pleasant. |

Quite cloudy red with some browning at the edge. Very open and aromatic with complex aromas of red fruits (strawberry), violet, watermelon, and some tomato. Tart but with good length and negligible tannin. Finishes with the distinct flavor of Epoisses cheese. |

Beautiful crystal clear color of earl grey tea with hints of copper. Viscous in nature with thick legs. Aroma of black tea leaves, acetone, grapes, baked cr?me brule and dried fruits. Heavy mouth feel, almost of syrup with a lingering mouth coating finish. Raisin, caramel, tea leaves, toffee, and burnt raisin all show up on the palate, while the alcohol shows itself in a warming finish. Rich unctuous texture with a bit of a cloying nature that is not entirely unpleasant while the acid tries to cleanse the finish. A bit of Cabreles cheese from Spain helps to lend a touch of acidity that is missing in the wine by itself. The saltiness of the cheese also brings out fruitiness in the wine that?s not there by itself. Not bad but a bit too cloying for me without the acidity to balance it. |

Michael Schuster Wine Course w4. Orange to brown colour, lightening up around the rim. Aromas of burnt toffee, caramel, rich melted butter and raisin. On the palate it is rich and syrupy. Flavours of rich fruit like dates and prunes is cut through by the refreshing acidity. Very, very sweet and smoth. |

Complex and intriguing aromas of mint, vanilla, rose water, pineapple, and some tomato. Good structure and acidity. Decent length. Lacks a bit of concentration but at this price the wine is still a bargain. |
