Still darkly colored with sharp aromas of RAID and smoldering plastic. Surprisingly plush in the mouth will full flavors of slightly raisny plum and raspy oak. Way past its prime but still drinkable if one has to. Five years ago this was a really quite good modern styled Syrah. |

Morgante is a reliable producer of Nero d?Avola. This wine receives four months aging in small French (Troncais and Allier) oak. After four months the winery culls out their best barrels for additional oak aging. These barrels along with wine from their oldest vineyard form the Morgante?s "reserve" Nero, the Don Antonio. This wine is filtered and fined prior to bottling. A medium ruby hue with quite forward aromas of cherry, some oak, a bit of caramel, vanilla, and slight anise. Ripe and round in the mouth with flavors that echo the nose. Nicely balanced with negligible tannin. A user friendly very enjoyable wine that is definitely worth the tariff charged. |

This wine consists of 100% Nero D?Avola, a varietal indigenous to Sicily, raised in small oak barrels. Medium black cherry red with plenty of warm dark fruits, anise, mint, and wood in the nose. More plum and anise in the mouth coupled with plenty of oak that turns rather scratchy on the finish. A decided value. Interestingly, Ricardo Cottarella is the consulting winemaker at Morgante. |

Appearance: Medium intensity, fairly dark ruby Very nice. Strong but appropriate tannins. Not very complex, but very tasty. |

Dark red. Nose reminds of fur, red fruits. Nice mouth, with fine tannins. Alchol is quite high (15°) but it doesn't feel. |

Translucent black cherry red with thin surprisingly dark legs. Aromas of mint, bits of earth and anise, bitter chocolate, chalk, and tart dark fruits. Acidity is on the high side. Some volatile acidity noted. 90% Nero d'Avola and 10% Perricone. Drink now. |

Blend of the Sicilian varietals Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, and Nocera. Turpentine, ash, alcohol, and plum on the nose. Tannins attack the front palate and lay heavily on the tongue. Full mouth finish. Not sure if this wine will calm down and structure itself with time. |

This wine has been produced with 100% Nero D'Avola grapes, a varietal unique to Sicily grown in low yield vineyards.
