A surprisingly taut, backward ?98 that took quite a bit of decanting to round into its Pfalz form, as it initially only offered foundational green apple skins, mineral and modest citrus blossom notes. As it unwound, a much more honeyed, tropical character emerged in the palate, sporting quince and pineapple notes that were impressive in their weight and overall depth of flavor. Lovely wine with a medium length finish. A touch bit on the sweeter side and hint of future petrol nose is already in place. Nice smooth palate which was not too viscous. Quite enjoyable but perhaps better with age to take a bit of the sugar edge off.

Pure, clean, zingy. A crowd-pleaser with bright fruit and zippy acidity. Great QPR.

Crowd pleaser. Crisp citrus, clean acidity and mineral, little sweetness. Not RS sweetness so much as juicy fruit. Great deal too.

A fascinating example of this aloof hybrid grape, expelling a beguiling aromatic profile consisting of smoky slate, lilac, peach skin and spearmint notes set the stage for a thick, juicy palate full of pure dried apricots. There is quite a bit of residual sweetness left in this 13 year old Scheurebe, as it began a bit undelineated on the palate but seemed to gain in depth and cut as it sat in the glass. Smell of apples and gasoline. Full body, good consentration. Develops interestingly in the mouth. Long, lingering aftertaste. A fantastic wine from a great year.

A peachy nose coupled with good mouth feel and slight sweetness.

Slightly spritzy and obviously sweet. Slightly excessive acidity leads to a bitter finish.

A decent lemon/lime quaffer. The winemaker left the wine slightly sweet in a futile attempt to try and offset the excessive acidity.

11.5% alcohol; sl sweet taste, good for spice; good for daily use

Extremely pure riesling. Meyer lemon, flowers and nice minerality. Medium bodied.

Almost like a combination of rich Gruner and Weissburgunder with a hint of Traminer. Extremely intense, rich and exotic. Not a wine for every food, but it certainly has it's place.
