More and more I believe the '99 vintage in Oregon does not live up to its hype - I much prefer the 2000s and to a lesser extent the '98s. Sandalwood flavors and aromas dominate this wine. Medium ruby red color with thick clear legs. Light mint, spice, plum, spearmint are discernable in this wine's quite complex nose. Somewhat lean on the palate, (just like most '99s) with high acidity and simple red fruit flavors. Seems more mature in the mouth despite the high acidity and foursquare flavor profile.
