Pale yellow-gold in the glass, this wine has a nose of cold cream and buttered popcorn. In the mouth it is smooth and mellow, with flavors of cold cream, lemon curd, and nice mineral notes, lit from the side, as it were with the faintest rays of oak. Not complex, but quite tasty. In the mouth it is silky and beautiful with nice balance and flavors of buttercream, lemon zest, and apple pie with a nice mineral note that lingers on the finish. Deep concentrated blackcurrant appearance that is virtually clear. Smells of blue and black berry, smoked ham, cherry wood, raspberry, and warm spice. A deep alcoholic pungent nose. Tart and fruity with sweet pineapple, blackberry, cherry and warm spice carried through to the palate. A smooth voluptuous texture with soft tannins and a rich fruity body. Very Good.

A consistent and very enjoyable wine, in line with my last tasting. Thoroughly recommended.

Strong sweet blackcurrant flavours and an oaky nose. The body is smooth and silky with a good finish. At the price a good buy.

Much lighter styled than past vintages (the 98 remains a mid nineties point blockbuster). A big nose coupled with stemmy fruit with a long finish.

A bit dryer than I expected. Kind of fruity - berries, perhaps. Not unpleasant, but I prefer their everyday shiraz. Visit my website: Complaint Hub

Straw yellow with a little green in the centre. Buttered toast on the nose with fresh citrus aromas. Light bodied with good acidity. Long and smooth with lemon and caramel on the palate. Surprisingly has spend no time in oak. Excellent.

Golden yellow. Lemon and a hint of leesy yeast on the nose. Medium body with good crisp acidity; light alcohol. Sweet lemon fruit on the attack; toffee and a little toast on the finish. Good. Shame they'd run out of the 1998.

Shame - oxidised.

fruit flavour is intense, heavy alcohol adds weight.
