Dark purple with a black core. Nutty aromas with smoky, ripe black berries. Succulent plummy fruits on the palate. Lighter than expected, but mouth-filling with a hint of liquorice and good heat from the alcohol.

1st Wood nuts with fruit of plum and raisin hidden a bit. Rich tannin with high acid it shows flavors of grape, raisin, date, anise, and black pepper. Currently the alcohol is a big factor. 3.5/5 2nd Chocolate on the nose with Candy like cherry/grape on the palate. Tasty but the finish is a bit short. 3/5

Initially decanted for 2 hours. Aromas of blackberry liqueur and candied black cherries with a healthy dose of coffee, licorice and caramel. The smell of fresh asphalt in scorching sunshine also tickle the olphactory nerve just the right way to create a wonderful and exotic sensory extravaganza. Blackberries with a little tart cherry in the back getting smoked out, mellowing out with the smooth tannins and really enjoying hanging out on the palate for a long time. They even have a couple more friends like red apple and spice come around to say hi at the end of the day. It is an ink bomb about to go off in your shirt pocket and you'd want to lick the shirt clean. It is that good. Had with my favorite chocolate cupcake with caramel, chocolate and sea-salt icing. Great way to end a Wednesday! Visit my website: St. Henry Brewery - brewing 'til the bitter end!

Dark red purple colored wine with thin slow moving moderately pigmented legs. Surprisingly accessible nose of green apple, maple syrup, dark fruits, and heat. Smooth and suave in the mouth with good fruit, apparently light tannins, and only average sweetness. The wine finishes sooner than I would expect. Quite a fine early drinking rather approachable port. Drink 2010 to 2025. 2000 seems more and more to me to be only an above average year that is benefiting from the 2000 designation.

Black as night with a full and alcoholic nose of cigar ash, candied plums, spices, and some raisins. Thick and rich with palate staining tannin. Tastes more hot than it has in the past. Lasts and lasts with a very attractive burnt marshmallow aftertaste.

Medium red color with significant lightening on the edges. Sweet plum on the nose. Unfortunately, this wine has not developed the complexity I expect in vintage port ? slightly dumb at present. Perhaps with time the wine will display the complexity the best vintage ports show although this may be wishful thinking.

Graham's has traditionally been my favorite Port producer (even though Taylor's is arguably of higher quality). 1963 and 1977 Graham's are the obvious highlights of Graham's recent oeuvre. The 2000 is not as good as either of those wines and at present reminds me of a less structured 1985 (or perhaps more properly a slightly juiced 1980). I tasted this wine over a 24-hour period after splash decanting. Opaque red purple color that lightens at the edge. Few very thick and slow moving legs with slight pigmentation. Alcohol, white pepper, and indistinctive and reticent red fruit aromas. Sweet and grapy in the mouth with peppery overtones. The wine has plenty of drying tannins in the moderately long finish. The wine became tired after 24 hours (not a good sign). Drink 2020 to 2030+. 92 points (but more than usually I am giving anticipated credit for the history of how well this wine develops over time).
